For dinner on Valentine’s Day, we had pork ribs. I let them
sit in the slow cooker six hours on low, then served them with this:
Homemade Barbecue Sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar (Next time, I’ll use 1/3 cup honey
instead.)
3/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire
1 tablespoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon kosher salt
3/4 teaspoon black pepper
Dash hot sauce (We like Cholula, but any brand will do.)
Dump all ingredients in a small saucepan and stir over low
heat until sauce thickens a bit. May be served immediately or refrigerated in
an airtight container for up to a month. This was more than enough for the
three of us, but it can easily be doubled or tripled if necessary.
