This might be the easiest recipe I’ve posted here so far –
and that’s really saying something. It’s also one of the fastest. Just five
minutes on the stove and five minutes to cool. Then you can pop them onto a
salad, over ice cream, into your popcorn, or just in your mouth. How cool is
that?
Candied Walnuts
1 cup walnut halves
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
Lay a sheet of parchment paper on the counter. Place all
ingredients in a non-stick skillet. Cook, stirring, over medium heat about five
minutes, until the sugar has caramelized and all the nuts are coated. Transfer
to the parchment to cool. Using two rubber spatulas, qickly separate the
walnuts. If you don’t, you’ll end up with one big clump of nuts. Once you get the hang of it, you can easily double or triple this recipe.
