Log Cabin Garden

I used to keep recipes on my laptop. My desk was in the kitchen, so it made sense to do it this way. Digital recipes don’t get dog-eared or messy, and they don’t take up precious counter space. But then my laptop developed a nasty virus. Suddenly the only thing it was good for was playing solitaire. I turned to the smartest guys I know, and they backed up everything that looked important and started fresh. Now my computer works beautifully, but all my word processing files are gone. No letters, no memos, and no recipes. They said I wasn’t saving them in the right place, and no doubt they’re right. Since then I’ve been keeping important recipes on slips of paper all over the kitchen. Yesterday I alphabetized them so I can find the ones I need. Apple Banana Smoothie is on the top of the pile, reminding me that if I’d bought a Macbook in the first place, my recipes might not have been pureed.
