Angelfish

A radially symmetrical quilt block is like a pie. If you sliced it through the middle in any direction, you’d end up with identical pieces. The only block I’ve made (that I can think of) that fits this description is my Mariner’s Compass  http://mombowe.blogspot.com/2011/01/ancora-imparo.html. H symmetry is what you call it when the top half of the block mirrors the bottom and the right side mirrors the left, like a letter H. Most of my blocks are like this. Blocks that have no mirror lines, but which look the same when they’re upside-down have S symmetry, like http://mombowe.blogspot.com/2012/02/chigai-igeta-staggered-grid.html. A few of my blocks have M symmetry; meaning the right side mirrors the left, as in http://mombowe.blogspot.com/2011/07/ice-cream-cone.html. Some blocks have no symmetry at all, like http://mombowe.blogspot.com/2013/07/betsy-ross.html. The top of today’s block is a mirror image of its bottom, which gives it B symmetry. Isn't geometry fun?
