Twin Arrows

One hot summer day in 2013, Janeth and Laura visited a Bogota butcher shop in search of meat for a barbecue. Janeth hoped her friend William – a butcher at the shop – would give them a good price on pork ribs. When Janeth introduced William, Laura was stunned. He looked exactly like Jorge, a coworker in her office. The following Monday at work, Laura told Jorge she’d met his double. Jorge laughed and told her he does have a twin, Carlos, but they’re not identical. Jorge stopped laughing when he saw the photos on William’s facebook page. Several pictures showed William with his fraternal twin Wilbur; who looked exactly like Jorge’s brother, Carlos. Genetic testing confirmed the two sets of identical twins were accidentally separated at the hospital. Each family had gone home with one boy that was theirs, and one that wasn’t; a mistake that went undiscovered nearly a quarter of a century.
