Tulip Lady Fingers

Creating a thing of beauty brings a joy unmatched by any other endeavor; especially when what you make brings joy to others. Campbell Remess of Hobart, Tasmania knows this. For the last three years the 12-year-old has made stuffed bears for charity. It started when Campbell asked his mum to help him buy Christmas presents for kids in hospital. She said there wasn’t money in the budget for that, so he said, “No worries. I’ll make them.” He found a teddy bear pattern and asked for her help. She said, “It’s beyond me,” and sent him to bed thinking that would be the end of it. Two hours later he came back with a bear. Now Campbell makes a bear a day, with donated fabric in his bedroom. He even made one for his dad, Nathan, who is fighting cancer. “There’s a bit of magic in them,” Nathan says, “A lot of magic in Campbell, though.”
