Nadine Baum is a “frequent flyer” at her local McDonald’s in
Hannover, Pennsylvania. She regularly lunches there with her son. October 13,
when mother and son showed up for their usual visit, the staff surprised them
with flowers, balloons, a cake and a rendition of “Happy Birthday.” It was
Nadine’s 100th and they wanted to make it a special day for her. They presented
her with a certificate for free meals at Mickey D’s – for life. “I just can’t
get over this,” she exclaimed as she enjoyed her Big Mac, mocha frappe and
slice of cake, “This is so wonderful. I’m going to go in three times a day,
every day.” I can’t help wondering, with eating habits like that, how many more
birthdays Nadine will see. Still, if the Golden Arches are what makes her
happy, that’s exactly where she should be.
