Arkansas Crossroads Block

I ran across this block a few days ago when a friend of a friend posted a photo of a finished quilt online. I’d admired her choice of scrappy, cheerful prints against an almost-but-not-quite white background. It occurred to me that I had plenty of cheerful print scraps lying around with nothing important to do. I also had a fairly large chunk of nearly white solid fabric that wasn’t earmarked for anything in particular. So yesterday morning I started hacking away at my stash, cutting ragged leftover ends of fabric into 4.5” squares (the off-white background) and 2.5” squares (everything else). Before I knew it, the entire morning had stolen away. I’d love to show you what happens when this humble, wonky little block gets together with a few dozen of its friends. It’s amazing; it really is. You’ll have to wait a couple of days to see it, but it will be worth the wait. I promise.
