Easter came too soon this year. It was here and gone almost
before I noticed. I usually take advantage of April General Conference weekend
to take down the green picture books in the studio and replace them with The
Egg Tree, Max’s Chocolate Chicken, and The Country Bunny and the Little Gold
Shoes. I listen to conference talks on television (or on my laptop) while
boiling and dying eggs, decorating sugar cookies or cutting and sewing bits of
pastel fabric. I do a little spring cleaning and concoct an Easter egg hunt while
screening Ben-Hur or The Ten Commandments. None of that happened this year.
Most of March was swallowed by Bluffdale’s production of Brigadoon. Not that I
mind, really. I love that musical, and I appreciate every chance I get to be
part of the magic. But after closing night came the Utah Comic Con
FanXperience, and then – surprise! Here’s Easter! And it wasn't even April yet!
