Jacob's Ladder

For the first time in far too long, I’m seeing more un-ripped jeans than ripped ones in department store windows. There’s a fad I’ll be happy to see disappear. I’m not the fashion police, and I get that you’re trying to channel your rebel side. But it’s sad to see so many young people spending so much money on clothes that are just a few washes from being completely useless. If you really want to be taken seriously, buy a pair of actual used jeans from a thrift store. Better yet, buy new, un-holey jeans and wear them to shovel snow, walk the dog, weed the garden, mow the lawn, take out the trash, clean the garage, paint the deck, ride your bike and play a game of softball. Before you know it, you’ll have the style you want without looking like you’re trying too hard. And you just might have more cash in the back pocket.
