Whirlpool

When he was three years old, Ryan Hickman visited a local recycling center with his father. He told his parents he wanted to start collecting recyclables from all his neighbors the very next day. That was four years ago. Since then, seven-year-old Ryan has gathered, sorted and recycled 49,000 pounds of trash. If you live in the Orange County area, you can go to his website http://ryansrecycling.com/ and schedule a delivery. If not, you can still contribute by buying a T-shirt at http://dhdwear.com/Ryans-Recycling (in save-the-planet green, of course). His mother, Andrea, says Ryan has saved $10,000 for college, though he tells people he’d rather spend the money on a garbage truck. I’m inclined to agree with Ryan. After all, where can college take a kid like him that he can’t drive himself?
