Western Kaleidoscope

I don’t love every block I make. Most of the blocks I’ve posted here have been stitched into quilts or earmarked for future projects. Several orphans were given to friends who liked them better than I did. More than a few have been picked apart and redesigned. I haven’t been too fond of the ones I’ve been making for this year’s block-of-the-month classes at Quilts Etc. Individually they’re not bad; they just don’t seem to like each others' company. Some are black and white. Some are brown and tan. Some are blue, some green and some red. As the months have gone by, I’ve laid the finished blocks out on my sewing room floor, arranging and rearranging them trying to make them get along. Finally I came up with a plan. I’ll put this kaleidoscope block in the center of my quilt and let the other blocks squabble quietly around it.
