Eastern Star

A speaker at a seminar gave each person in his audience a balloon and told them to write their name on it with a marker pen. All 500 balloons were collected and put in another room. People were then let into the room and were given five minutes to find their own balloon. Everyone searched frantically but no one could find the balloon with their own name. Then the speaker asked each person to pick up the first balloon they could reach and give it to the person whose name was written on it. Within a few minutes everyone had their own balloon. The speaker then began, "Everyone is frantically looking for happiness all around, not knowing where it is. Our happiness lies in the happiness of other people. Give them their happiness; you will get your own. And this is the purpose of human life: the pursuit of happiness." I love this story, but I can't help thinking how happy I'd be if you just put me in a room full of balloons.
