Kindred

I’ve finished the quilt top from the first Moda Frivol tin I bought three weeks ago! I really enjoyed making these delightful blocks and setting them together. I did a bit of a double-take when I got to the block – second from the left on the top row – with little white flowers on a lipstick red background. I pulled out the 10” blocks I’ve been making in the Quilts Etc. BOM class this year, and sure enough, there it was. The block called Hey Diddle Diddle that I posted October first used exactly the same print. In addition to the fabric and pattern for this quilt, this first tin also contained a strip of “handmade” labels and a pattern card for a separate sampler block. On the back of the card was a quote from Marjorie Pay Hinckley: “The grand and the simple; they are equally wonderful.”
