Buche de Noel

Thanksgiving is out of the way (except for a few pounds and more than a few leftovers), and we’re ready to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year! If you need a little help getting into the mood for Christmas, here are some movies to get you started:
A Charlie Brown Christmas – 1965, How the Grinch Stole Christmas – 1966, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer – 1964 (You can watch all three in 98 minutes.)
Nightmare Before Christmas - 1993
Home Alone - 1990
Meet Me in St. Louis - 1945
The Holiday - 2006
The Family Man - 2000
The Santa Clause - 1994
Love Actually - 2003 (I’ve no stomach for the R-rated parts, so I watch the edited for TV version.)
We’re No Angels - 1955
White Christmas - 1954
The Bishop’s Wife - 1947
Miracle on 34th Street - 1947
It’s a Wonderful Life - 1946
You’ll notice I left out all mention of the movie versions of Dicken’s A Christmas Carol. Stay tuned…

  1. Fail. Muppet's Christmas Carol is ALWAYS the first movie of the year.

That being said, I can get you each of these and we'll have a December Christmas MovieFest if you'd like...

  2. Thanks, that's sweet of you. We have them on DVD except for Meet Me in St. Louis. We're No Angels and The Bishop's Wife only play on the British DVD player, and we lost our edited recording of the Love Actually in 2009.

  3. There IS one other movie you might help with that isn't on this list: Christmas Lights (2004), with Robson Green and Mark Benton.
