Rendezvous

Summer begins in exactly one week and a day! One of the best things about summer is fresh local produce. My mouth is already watering for heirloom tomatoes, corn on the cob, watermelon, peaches, and Bing cherries. I love to visit farmers’ markets and come home with bushels full of good things to eat. One of the best markets in the valley is at Pioneer Park in Salt Lake City. You’ll find produce, crafts and buskers there every Saturday until mid-October, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There’s a Friday night traveling market in Millcreek. You can find it at www.facebook.com/millcreekcommunitymarket/info. Murray Park hosts a wonderful market Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There’s also a good one at Sugarhouse Park on Fridays from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The best time to hit a farmers’ market is just as they’re opening; while the goods are still fresh and so are you.
