Daisy Chains

Take everything out of your utensil drawers. Dump out the crumbs. If your drawers aren’t easy to remove, use a vacuum hose. Erase any remaining gunk with a damp cloth followed by a dry one. Before you put everything back, take a good look at your utensil collection. Are your rubber spatulas melted? Have your spoons done battle with the garbage disposal? Do you have three pancake turners when one will do? Do you own several grapefruit spoons but can’t stand the sight of grapefruit? Today is the perfect day to clear your kitchen of gadgets you don’t need. You might decide to buy trays to keep everything clean and organized in the future. If you’ve been eating with old, mismatched knives and forks, consider tossing them all and buying a new set of flatware. An inexpensive set can brighten your table, and it may even encourage you to entertain more often.
