I have a large freezer in my garage. At the moment it’s
practically empty. I have some boneless, skinless chicken breasts, a little Italian
sausage, a few pork chops, and ice cream. We could polish it all off in less
than a week. Our grocer has a sale on meats right now, so this would be a good
time to pick up ground beef, steaks and the like. We go through a lot of frozen
vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, corn and peas. Other things
that would be nice to have on hand are frozen concentrated fruit juice, hash
browns, pie crust, roll dough and pizza dough. As soon as strawberries and
peaches come into season I mean to put up several pots of freezer jam. I hope
to have a well stocked freezer before the really warm weather comes, because a full
freezer costs less to keep cold than an empty freezer does.
