Cups and Saucers

It occurs to me that I’ve written quite a lot here about Sunday dinners. I promised when I started this page that it would be about whatever is on my mind from day to day. It’s clear to me that I spend a lot of my time thinking about dinner on Sunday. After years of setting the table for only three day after day, family dinners are the highlight of my whole week. It takes a lot of planning to pull it off, but well worth the trouble. I like to use my slow cooker whenever I can, so our meal cooks itself while we’re at church. Many dishes can be made a day or two ahead, so there’s very little work left on the Sabbath. That means a lot to me, just as it means a lot to enjoy Sunday with the people I love. Now if only I could find a dishwasher that loads and unloads itself.
