Gold Brick

Our first love was Bangkok Thai in Foothill Village. They used the very best meats and seafood; the freshest vegetables and spices. We couldn’t get enough. Eventually they moved to a less intimate setting. They changed their name and menu and then they were gone. We liked Lemon Grass in downtown Salt Lake. They had cozy booths and traditional Thai art. We found several favorites on their menu. But Lemon Grass is gone, too. The real blow came some weeks ago as we were walking back to our car after Disney on Ice. We passed by our favorite restaurant, the Thaifoon at Gateway. We noticed their lights were out and thought they’d closed early. Then we realized they were really CLOSED. A friend recommended CafĂ© Trang, so we went there this week. But it really isn’t Thai; it’s Asian fusion. They even gave us fortune cookies. Are there no great Thai restaurants left in the Salt Lake valley?
