I’ve been indexing obituaries and thought I’d try writing my own. Here
it is, minus names and dates:
I was born in the Cottonwood Maternity Hospital in Murray. I’ve
loved living in California, New York, Idaho and North Yorkshire, but Utah has
always been “home.” I married my best friend in the Washington, D.C. Temple midway
between Christmas and New Year’s Day. I’ve spent my life studying, teaching and
sharing music. I’ve also enjoyed good books (especially children’s literature),
good movies, cooking (and eating), community theater, quilting and puzzles of every kind. But my
children and my grandchildren have brought me the most pure joy. I’ve been a
lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in
many capacities. That service and my faith have blessed me immeasurably. I was
preceded in death by my grandparents and my dad. I’ve missed them and
look forward to being with them again. I leave behind my mother, my brother and sisters, a loving husband, four
dear children and four sweet grandchildren.
Hopefully I’ll have time for several drafts before
it’s needed!
