Falling Leaves Quilt

Autumn begins Tuesday night at 10:29, which means we have about 82 hours of summer left. It’s time to check my summer bucket list. Watch fireworks; check. Run through sprinklers; check. Toast marshmallows; check. I also swam, visited the zoo, made ice cream and picnicked several times. I attended the state fair, visited the farmer’s market, saw a balloon festival and bought lemonade from neighbors’ girls. I raised a killer vegetable garden. (Seriously. If you’re quiet you can hear it say, “Feed me, Seymour!) I haven’t done absolutely everything on the list yet. I didn’t make a fresh strawberry pie, or a fresh peach pie, either. My bike is still leaning against the garage wall with two flat tires. I did a lot of walking this summer, but somehow I didn’t do any biking. I could get those tires fixed today. I could even make a fresh strawberry-and-peach pie tomorrow. And then start an autumn bucket list.
